About The Community House of Hamilton-Wenham

In 1921, George and Emily Mandell of Hamilton built The Community House in memory of eight men of both towns who died in military service during World War I, including their son, Samuel. They commissioned Guy Lowell, a respected architect of Boston and New York, to design the building, and gave The Community House in trust for the use of the residents of both towns.

Experience the quiet ambiance and charm of our historic building in the picturesque equestrian town of Hamilton, Massachusetts. Located 3 miles off of Route 128, thirty minutes north of Boston, and 15 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean, we are the ideal setting for formal and informal functions. Our building is open year round and is fully air conditioned and handicap accessible.

MANDELL BALLROOM ~ Designed in the style of a 1920s ballroom, this room features wonderful architectural details, hardwood floor, stage with baby grand piano, and Palladium doors to the outside portico. The Ballroom adjoins the intimate Library. This space along with the Library accommodates 120 guests for seated dining or 160 guests for a cocktail reception. For live performances, the space accepts seating for 160 audience members.

About Us...

The Musary begam as a labor of love in memory of John Ryan Pike, who was tragically killed in 2007. John's friends and family came together and quickly raised funds and collected instruments to share his love of music.

Through monetary and instrument donations The Musary, JRP Inc. is able to purchase new instruments or repair and refurbish well loved instruments  preparing them for loan. Instruments are loaned on a first come, first serve basis. We work in conjunction with school band programs and local musicians alike. The Musary accepts requests from all age groups and all skill levels. A borrower may loan an instrument for a period of 90 days, and may renew an unlimited amount of times until another request for the instrument has been made.

The Musary currently has over 200 instruments currently on loan that include numerous guitars, clarinets, flutes, trombones, upright and grand pianos; to name a few. Various other instruments remain in The Musary's collection ready to be loaned. With the love and support of our community and those who knew and loved our inspiration, we are a rapidly growing 501(3)c non-profit, serving much of New England.
